Keep Hipcamp. Add the channel that keeps 92% with you.
CampFind charges 8% all in on bookings it sends, campers pay nothing on top, your cancellation policy stands, and there is no rate parity. Here is exactly what changes, with the numbers.
Your bookings, both ways
Hipcamp UK: 12.5% plus VAT (15% in total) plus card processing of 1.4% and 20p per booking, and the camper pays a further 10 to 15% service fee. Checked 29 October 2026. CampFind's 8% includes card processing. Figures are before any tax due on commission in your country.
Hipcamp and CampFind, side by side
Hipcamp figures are from its published terms and owner reports, checked 29 October 2026. If any are out of date, tell us and we will correct the page.
| Topic | Hipcamp | CampFind |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | 12.5% plus tax, plus card processing passed to you. | 8% all in, card processing included. Nothing else. |
| The camper's price | Campers pay a 10 to 15% service fee on top of your price. | No camper fee. Your price is the price. The same pitch costs less on CampFind, so you can list the same rate and still be cheaper. |
| Refunds | A host-initiated cancellation means a full refund to the camper whatever your policy; hosts report refunds overridden against a no-refund policy. | Your cancellation policy stands. We never force a refund against it. |
| Your guests | You may not steer campers off the platform. | Talk to your guests directly and invite them back direct. They are your guests. |
| Delisting | Hosts report accounts frozen on a camper's claim with no chance to respond. | A named human and an appeals step before any delisting. |
| Reviews | Platform-moderated. | Verified-stay only, you can reply, and we never delete a review because an owner asks. |
What you do not get from us yet
- Hipcamp has the bigger audience and offers host insurance. CampFind does not provide insurance; use your own public liability cover as you would for direct bookings.
- Our live-availability booking and two-way calendar sync are still being built (roadmap M4 and M5). Until then, bookings here are instant on open availability, and you should block dates by hand or by iCal.
- We are new. Twenty verified owners in the UK and one in Australia as of 29 October 2026. We publish those numbers rather than round them up.
Three steps, under an hour
Claim your listing
Your site is almost certainly already on CampFind from open map data. Search it, claim it, and we verify within two working days.
Add pitches and prices
Copy your Hipcamp pitch list into the go-live console. Set the same prices: campers already pay less here because there is no camper fee.
Import your calendar
Export iCal from Hipcamp or your booking system and import it, so booked dates stay blocked while you run both.
Straight answers
Do I have to leave Hipcamp?+
No. Most owners keep Hipcamp for its audience and add CampFind alongside it. There is no exclusivity and no parity rule, so you can run both and move bookings to the cheaper channel as campers find you here.
What does CampFind cost?+
The listing is free. If a camper books and pays by card through CampFind we keep 8% of that booking, card processing included, and pay you the rest. Enquiries, and bookings on your own website or phone, cost nothing. Have your claim verified by 31 March 2027 and your first 10 paid bookings are commission-free.
Who holds the money and who refunds?+
The camper pays through Stripe and the payout lands in your own Stripe account. Your cancellation policy is shown at checkout and applied as written. We never refund against your policy.
Can campers still book on my own website cheaper?+
Yes. There is no rate parity on CampFind. Price your own site however you like.
How do I move across?+
Claim your listing (it is probably already here), get verified within two working days, then add your pitches and prices in the go-live console. Export your calendar from your current system as iCal and import it so dates stay blocked.
