In Scotland, responsible wild camping is allowed on most unenclosed land under the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, with byelaws around parts of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs in season. On Dartmoor it is allowed only in the permitted areas on the park's map. Everywhere else in England, Wales and Northern Ireland you need the landowner's permission. Arrive late, leave early, no fires, take everything home.
